SYNOPSIS:

Theresa “Rose” Grosso made her way onto the FBI’s most-wanted list by mastering the art of escaping from maximum-security prisons. After 20 years of dodging detection, she almost mastered the art of living on the lam. In 1969, Theresa was convicted of murdering a bar bouncer in cold blood. Her identical twin, who owned the murder weapon, testified that Theresa had gunned down the bouncer after he stopped Theresa from entering the bar. Theresa doesn’t remember the incident. Some people who knew or harbored Theresa had trouble believing that she was truly guilty. Others felt that—even if she were guilty—she had redeemed herself. DESERT ROSE, by filmmaker James Konrad Siler, is an investigative documentary about Theresa and how she eluded the law for 20 years.
