Congrats to Kumar Pictures, among the select finalists in the national 2018 American Institute of Architects Film Challenge!!

The AIA FILM CHALLENGE [2018] entry, “Riverside Community Garden” is a collaboration between Kumar Pictures, AIA Jacksonville and Riverside Avondale Preservation, which has advocated for protection of the historical area for over 40 years. A team led by AIA Jax president Jennifer L. Sugarmadji and secretary Brandon Pourch began work in mid-summer, a year after the garden opened at the corner of Park Street and Azalea Terrace. It includes 31 raised irrigated plots with herbs, fruit trees, flowerbeds, a public butterfly garden and workspaces; each plot can be leased for just $100 per year. Kumar Pictures CEO James Siler directed and edited the film, shooting interviews with local experts like former RAP director Carmen Godwin, garden designer Donna Bakiri and Dr. Wayne Wood. William Hoang’s original song “Community” served as the film’s soundtrack.
